Teaching Equitably Online: CEILS Summer Workshop Series
To help you begin to adapt your Fall and Summer courses to a remote or hybrid environment, CEILS has created a new summer workshop series: Teaching Equitably Online. In this series, you will work with colleagues to discuss and redesign your syllabus, assessments, and class activities to foster a more inclusive and equitable remote learning experience for your students.

Syllabus Design: July 21st, 1:00 - 2:30pm
Use structured syllabus review tools to help you assess and adjust your syllabus to be more inclusive and equitable.

Designing Assessments: July 29th, 3:00 - 4:30pm
Learn about an array of assessment options, hear about what's worked well for colleagues, get time to adapt and troubleshoot your own assessment plans.

Designing for Student Engagement: July 31st, 1:00 - 2:30pm
Active learning and student engagement may look different online, but the remote teaching environment makes these techniques even more critical to having an equitable course. Learn about how faculty engage students online and determine which approaches are most appropriate in your course.

We hope to see you there!

That's all the information we need! The OPTIONAL questions below will help us best tailor the workshop for you.
Are you teaching remotely for the first time this summer or fall?
Clear selection
On a scale from 1 to 5, with 1 being not at all prepared and 5 being very prepared, how are you feeling about teaching your course this summer or fall?
Clear selection
What are your current plans for assessment (if you have any yet)?  Are you planning on doing a proctored exam (eg. Respondus or Zoom)? Are you attempting to administer individual exams and not allow collaboration? Are you open to alternative methods of assessment?
Questions about additional support CEILS can offer
CEILS already has undergraduates trained in using Zoom for breakout sessions and other functions, so that faculty can get relatively quick and personalized help with these functions. (Contact them at lazoomassistance@gmail.com.)

CEILS also already offers TA training workshops for using Zoom.

We're happy to hear what else CEILS can offer to assist you in getting ready to teach this summer!
Do you want support in how to best incorporate your TAs into course planning and student support?
Clear selection
CEILS is planning to train undergraduates in how to create a CCLE Quiz based on questions you've designed - would you be likely to use such a service? If so, can you provide more details on what you would like this undergraduate to do for you?
Please share any concerns and the topics that are causing you the most stress as you think about planning for summer or fall.
