The Pocket Gallery - Residency Application
First, a little about the program.

Our gallery is located on the lobby level of Seneca One in downtown Buffalo. It is curated by Greg Moyer, owner of local company, Leftern (@lefternco on IG) in collaboration with Sean Heidinger of Seneca One.

The idea with this space is to keep a rotating monthly residence of local artists to showcase and sell their work inside the gallery. We will be asking for $0 in commission fees for pieces sold on site. In fact, we will be granting artists a budget to work with for a reception event each month. We aim to make it a destination for people outside of the building to visit the work, as well as a stop-by for the 1k+ commercial and residential tenants and guests of Seneca One each week. It will be open to the public for viewing Monday-Saturday from 8am until 8PM. We'll also be consistently spreading information on the artists & gallery via multiple social channels and newsletters that we use.

Once a month, we'll be asking the featured artist to create an opening reception to kick off the residency that we help facilitate and execute smoothly. During this event, they will be allowed to take over the entire gallery, lobby, bar, speaker system, and theater space if wanted- creating a completely immersive experience- a step into their world, if you will; to expand the exhibit beyond just the art on the gallery walls.

Please fill this form out and submit if you're interested in applying for one of the months in this artist residency program. We will be going through all applications and choosing artists that best fit the program.

We also have ties to other galleries locally. With your permission at the end of this form, we'd like to pass your information to other residency programs if we run out of slots this year.

What is the price range of the work you'll have for sale? *
We are really excited about the possibility of hosting group shows- multiple artists / friends / studio mates combining forces during a given month for one, larger exhibit. This would lead to bigger, more immersive gallery and receptions, more options for guests to get involved, different mediums included, etc.

Would you be interested in partnering up with other creators in your circle for a month for a cohesive group exhibit?

All artists in our program must co-host an opening reception for their exhibit with our assistance. The space for the reception includes:

- The gallery space
- A large, open lobby with a 19-foot LED projector screen, 4 x ~50 inch TV screens around the bar, surround sound for any music
- A full bar with a food menu
- 6 x communal high tops in the open space, with the ability to remove for the reception to create more space
- The ability to set up live music
- A 250 person theater with stage and movie screen
The ability to set up a stage under the projector in lobby

Give us your best pitch below on how you could activate as many of these spaces and amenities as possible during your opening reception to create a fully immersive experience for attendees. Think outside the box! We'd love for each reception to be different from one another.

If Seneca One provided a $300 budget to you for the opening exhibit, how would you use it? *
Please provide any direct links to your art on social media, on any drives, any press, publications, etc. *
Do we have your consent to pass your information to other local galleries looking for artist applicants? *
Thank you for your interest and submission!
We will be going through all applications and reaching out with updates via the email address you used for this form. Please allow us some time as we move through submissions.

In the meantime, keep creating.
