MISSION: Cherry Pit Collective is a communal studio space for artists, makers, and creatives, where the work and vision of women are emphasized and celebrated. Members work together to support and promote each other through a shared workspace and jointly share work, costs, benefits, and risks. Monthly programming includes classes and events for skill sharing within our community and to foster collaboration over competition. All are welcome to apply for studio spaces and to attend our events, but female-identifying artists and members of other marginalized communities will be prioritized.
STUDIO DETAILS: Exposed brick warehouse building with 30ft ceilings. Skylight and solar panels on the roof, with a huge glass facade and opening windows for fresh air and breezes. Beautiful antique hardwood floors. Open plan studios ranging from 30 to 200 square feet. Members will have unlimited access with their own door access and alarm codes. Studio spaces start at $120 per month, with 3-month commitment minimums.
AMENITIES: Electricity, gas, water, trash pickup, fiber wifi and basic insurance, are all included in the membership fee. Shared double bathroom and kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, water cooler, and coffee maker. Large industrial sink, hose hookup, and washer/dryer. Comfy lounge with a gallery wall. Shipping center for online orders. Heating and cooling for comfort year-round. Shared large table space for large projects, collaborations, consultations, and teaching. We're sandwiched between Oddities Prints, a silkscreen print shop, and Maker Village, a community woodworking shop. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and Print Leauge KC, a community printmaking studio.
ACCESS MEMBERSHIP: These low-cost memberships do not include dedicated physical studio space, but do allow access to all communally shared spaces and all of the other listed benefits. $25-$75 per month.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS: We host open studio events, skill sharing classes, handmade markets and other special events. Members are invited to teach classes, and to attend our events for free. Our members support each other in every way imaginable.
