Thank you for joining our new La Familia Discipleship Program with St. Lawrence Catholic Church and School! The goal is for families to grow in their faith together by 1) learning something new, 2) spending time together in prayer, and 3) serving others. Please follow these simple steps to complete your family’s achievements:

STEP 1: Check the boxes by the goals your family will complete from the list provided below and/or include ideas of your own. Make sure it's a family project you can commit to completing between March 1st and May 3rd, 2021.

STEP 2: Click SUBMIT. You will immediately receive a copy with a summary of “Your Family’s Plan” via email.

STEP 3: After completing your goals, fill out your Achievement Form.

Knowing Our Faith - select as many as you'd like (at least 2) *

1. Create a Lenten Plan. Write down as many things as you can think of that your family is will do this Lent (Areas of Prayer, Almsgiving or Fasting)

2. Read from the Bible the Passion story in Matthew 1-2 and Luke 1-2 or watch age appropriate video. Discuss this as a family.

3. Learn about the difference between Lent (2/17 – 3/31) and Eater (4/4 – 5/23). Decide how your family will celebrate both liturgical seasons.

5. Research the Triduum. Discuss as a family the importance of these 3 days to all Catholics. Create a visual depicting the major points in Christ’s journey

Required

Living Our Faith - select as many as you'd like (at least 2) *

1. If possible serve before, during, or after Mass. We have many opportunities: greeting at the doors, Video Team running the slides, singing/playing an instrument, reading, ushering.

2. Participate in either the Solemn Entrance (4:00 PM Saturday; or 7:30AM, 9:30AM, 12:30PM, 5:00 PM, or 7:00 PM Masses) or the Solemn Procession (11:00 Mass) on Palm Sunday, April 3/28. See the bulletin or parish website for more details

3. Attend the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday (April 1st; 7:00 PM)

4. Attend the Veneration of the Cross service on Good Friday (April 2nd; 3:00 or 7:00 PM in English; 5:30 PM in Spanish).

5. Attend the Easter Vigil Mass (April 3rd; 8:30 PM).

6. If you attend the Easter Vigil write a summary of the special events

7. Attend the Divine Mercy Mass and Holy Hour on April 11th (12:30 Mass; Holy Hour to follow).

8. Help your middle schooler get to Edge at least twice and discuss as a family their experience. (www.stlawrence.org/edge)

9. Visit the Church for Adoration any Friday 9:00am – noon.

10. Have a tech-free day - offer it as a prayer of fasting for Lent.

Required

Sharing Our Faith - select as many as you'd like (at least 2) *

1. Invite another family to participate in one of the special services you attend.

2. Attend the Stations of the Cross at least one Friday EVENING during Lent. Perhaps invite a friend or bring an elderly neighbor who may need a ride.

3. With your family, attend or participate in the Live Stations of the Cross (March 26th; 7:30 PM) which are

4. Keep in your vehicle soft granola bars, water, or warm/dry items like socks and give them to those in need.

5. Purchase and bring food for Matthew 25 Center. Donation boxes are by the church doors.

6. Visit an elderly friend or relative, make them a card sharing your concern for them.

7. Donate clothing and/or other items to a charity of choice.

8. Make a commitment to sharing your funds by using Rice Bowl.
