Theme Camp Placement Application
Howdy, happy camper! If you're a Theme Camp Lead looking to have your Theme Camp placed on the event map AND at the event itself, you've come to the right place.

Please note:
-City Planning will email you with any follow-up questions. For approved Theme Camps, City Planning will send some additional info after the application closes
-A camp that does not request/require placement (renegade camp) can set up in Open Camping. It will not be listed on the map and will not have a space assigned, however you can still submit your renegade camp to be listed in the What Where When guide by emailing your camp name and description to cityplanning@playadelfuego.org

Default and Playa names
What is the name of your Theme Camp? *
Provide the description of your Theme Camp for the WWW (What Where When Guide) *
How is it interactive? What does your Theme Camp do, share, offer PDF? *
What are the large pieces of infrastructure in your Theme Camp and their approximate sizes? *
How big of a reserved space does your Theme Camp need? *
How many people are in your Theme Camp? *
Please note, the number of people in your Theme Camp does not dictate the size of the lot you are assigned. The size of your public/interactive infrastructure is the major driving factor of the size lot you are granted.
Does your camp have burning or flaming items, besides a burn barrel/fire pit/grill? If so, elaborate on the item, how much space it needs,  and your fire safety plan. *
This includes poofers, fire art/effects, fire spinning areas, workshops/demonstrations, etc.
Will your Theme Camp be running a generator in camp? *
Be a good neighbor when using generators. Baffle them and point exhaust away from camps, tents, people, etc. See PDF's Fire & Generator policy.
Does your Theme Camp infrastructure (public area, not personal camp area) require early entry to set up? If so, please explain. Also provide the minimum number of people needed to set up your public area.
Approval for Theme Camp early entry will be provided directly to your Theme Camp Lead by City Planning. No camps will be allowed to enter early without this approval. (This is generally for larger camps with a lot of infrastructure.)
Is your Theme Camp supporting/constructing a major art piece such as the Effigy or Temple or other art? If so, explain.
What is the volume of your Theme Camp's intended activities?  *
If Loud, you must also fill out the Amplified Sound application. We will review your answers in this section and approve or deny your request. Expect a reply to your sound request after the application deadline. Incomplete applications will not be approved.
It is the Theme Camp Leader's responsibility to understand PDF's Sound Policy and keep sound at their Camp under control. Understood? *
Review the Sound Policy
Is your Theme Camp kid-friendly? *
Our camp is not suitable for kids
We have kids in our camp
Does your Theme Camp need or want to be in an adult-centric part of town? *
Do you want to be near or away from another Theme Camp?
Please specify NEAR or AWAY FROM and the other Theme Camp's name. We will do our best!
Would your Theme Camp be willing to be a Pink Lamp Camp?  *
Pink Lamp Camps are theme camps that volunteer to host a radio to help participants quickly reach Rangers, Medics, or the Burning Art Response Team (BART) if needed. They will be marked on the city map.

Once you've arrived and set up, Rangers will install the Pink Lamp Camp sign, give you your radio, and teach your primary contact how to use it. In addition, the radio will have a laminated cheat sheet tied to it. The radio will stay off when not in use. Once a day, Rangers will check to make sure it's charged. At the end of the event, Rangers will pick up the radio and sign from your camp.

Please note, not all camps that volunteer may be needed. City Planning will let you know once applications close.
Does your Theme Camp need or want to be at a RIDE (Radical Inclusion, Diversity, Equity) shuttle stop? *
If Yes, someone will follow up via email. Please note, not all camps that volunteer may be selected. We will let you know once applications close.
Does your Theme Camp need to have a vehicle(s) parked in it? *
If Yes, you must also fill out a Theme Camp Vehicle Parking Pass application for each vehicle you wish to park in your Theme Camp.
