Monetary Donation for Negative Meal Balances

It’s a fact that students who eat nutritious meals perform better in school. SMSD Food Service makes it possible for all students, even those who do not qualify for free or reduced meals, to receive healthy and nutritious meals daily regardless of the available funds in their meal account.

SMSD works diligently to help our families in any way we can which includes bringing their student’s negative meal account into good standing with donations.  

While SMSD Food Service receives funds from USDA for serving meals, families who do not qualify for free meals are expected to pay for meals.  However, that is not always possible as many families are still struggling to pay bills and other expenses.  

Monetary donations over $200 are presented to the Board of Education.  

We greatly appreciate your donation and it will be used to resolve student meal accounts with negative balances. Please complete this form and someone with the SMSD Food Service office will be in contact with you to discuss how to make a monetary donation.
