Dear Families:

Welcome to the Children Sunday School at the NC Chinese Bible Church!

In order to better prepare our children to worship God, we ask you and your children to follow the following guidelines. Parents, please read through and explain these guidelines to your child(ren).

Please fill out one (1) form for each of your children. For example, if you have two (2) children attending Sunday School, then you need to fill out two (2) forms - one for each.

Things to bring from home:

- Backpack and water bottle.

- Bible for elementary students.

- All classroom materials will be provided by the Sunday School. Unless permitted by the Teacher, all personal items need to be kept in the student’s backpack.

- Sunday School is not responsible for any lost and damage to personal items.

Dress Code:

- Dress UP to show your respect to God.

- Parents, please teach your child(ren) how to dress appropriately (modest and comfortable), and teach them that attire is an important part of a person’s religious life.

- Please do not wear: Flip flops, open-toed sandals, costume, pajamas, and etc.

Attendance:

- Students are expected to arrive 5 minutes early and are encouraged to attend all classes.

- Parents, please teach and help your child(ren) to arrive on time.

- Please notify the teacher(s) if late or absent.

Snacks: All snacks MUST be nut-free!

- Snacks will be provided by the Sunday School, but please bring water from home.

- Students have the option to bring in their own nut-free snacks.

- On special occasions, teachers and parents are welcome to bring in treats to share.

Sickness:

If you child(ren) is sick, PLEASE stay home.

Discipline:

We desire to help children develop self-control, cooperation and respect for self and others. Therefore, we do not view discipline as punishment, but correction. Our goal is to always do so in love. The following steps will be taken to correct inappropriate behavior:

1) Re-direction; Explanation of inappropriate behavior;

2) Review classroom rules and expectations; Explanation of consequences for repeating the behavior;

3) Calm Down Corner for repeated incidents (1 minute per child’s age);

4) Revisit classroom rules and expectations; Rejoin the class if desired.

If the child does not respond appropriately to the above measures, the parent will be expected to resume responsibility for the child for the remainder of the session outside the classroom. Behavior reports will be given to parents for repeated, serious incidents to include, but not be limited to biting, hitting or other behaviors that any cause physical or emotional harm to the child or others.

Playground safety:

Parents, please have conversations with your child(ren) regarding playground safety and behavior expectations. Please teach your child(ren) to be respectful and responsible while still have fun.

Photo Copyright Release:

During Sunday School, photos and videos may be taken of parents and children. These photos and videos may be used by the Chinse Bible Church in social media.

Waiver:

In consideration of the Chinese Bible Church of North Carolina allowing the above child(ren) to participate in Children Sunday School activities, we (I), the undersigned, do hereby release, forever discharge and agree to hold harmless Chinese Bible Church of North Carolina, its directors, employees, volunteers and agents (collectively herein the “Church”) from any and all liability, claims or demands for accidental personal injury, sickness or death, as well as property damage and expenses, of any nature whatsoever which may be incurred by the undersigned and the above child(ren) while involved in Children Sunday School.

Furthermore, we (I) [and on behalf of our (my) minor child(s)] hereby assume all risk of accidental personal injury, sickness, death, damage and expense as a result of participation in activities involved therein. As well as releasing the child(ren) if necessary for transportation to and from the Children Sunday School location. We(I), the undersigned, do hereby release, forever discharge and agree to hold harmless Chinese Bible Church of North Carolina, its directors, employees, volunteers and agents from any and all liability, claims or demands for accidental personal injury in the process of transportation.
