We will use mainly hand tools to work with wood in this workshop.
All classes will be taught by Ullrich Drews (German Master Carpenter) who speaks Cantonese and English.

“Basics in woodworking”

Drewswork offers now again a “BASICS” woodworking course.
This course is divided in four sessions.
We will concentrate on basic hand skills, marking out, material preparation, joint cutting, sharpening and surface finishing. There is a small amount of machine usage.
The workshop is designed as a good introduction for those interested in pursuing woodworking as a serious hobby.
While we are learning how to use the different tools and technics of woodworking, everyone will build their own footstool or similar item. You can design this item and choose different types of classic wood connections. Two pieces of walnut or teak wood will be provided. (35x22x2cm)
If you are not able to join all 4 lessons, you can just join one or two of your choice. But in that case you will not be able to complete the work piece we are building during this course. However, you can practise on some spare pieces of wood what we are learning on that day.
Cost: $850 for each of the Basics Workshop sessions (each time 4 hours). It’s recommended to join all 4 sessions because they build on each other.
Total cost for the entire course $2800, that's $700 per class only.
Minimum age: 14 years old
If you have can't join the entire time of 3 hours of each session, you could arrive late or leave early.
