This pilot program features pop-up classes at various locations on the land of the Lenape and Canarsie people (right now known as NYC). The locations, scattered around the city, are chosen by the teaching artists. July classes are all in Brooklyn!
Registration is REQUIRED. Any updates to the specifics of class location (ex. "there is a pickup soccer game in the original location so we are going across the path") will be communicated via email to registered participants, as well as updated on the @freeskewl Instagram story. Registered participants will also receive the cellphone # of the freeskewl class monitor. Registration can be completed up until when class begins but must be completed before participating as it includes a liability waiver and photo release.
COVID SAFETY:
Masks will not be required for class IF everyone in attendance agrees to a masks-optional class during an eyes-closed, anonymous vote at the beginning of class.
WEATHER:
Each class has different procedures for inclement weather decided upon by the facilitator. Any changes of plan will be shared with those registered and updated on the @freeskewl Instagram story. If you have questions, contact

All locations are reachable by public transportation and are in close proximity to at least one accessible train station. There are not steps at these locations. Classes at Prospect Park's Concert Grove Pavilion are on solid ground while McCarren Park classes are on grass or dirt. Please be in touch at
