Purpose Statement:
The AIA serves as the voice of the architecture profession and the resource for our members in service to society. It serves as the primary advocate of the architecture profession. To be that ‘Voice’ it is critically important to have engaged and active volunteers.  AIAVT is actively recruiting willing participants to act as board members to assist with programs and statewide outreach.

Considerations:
The following prompts are designed to help prospective nominees identify what aspects of board membership they might wish to focus on, and or how they might represent a broader sector of the profession.

Architectural design representation: Do you represent a group or sector of Vermont interested in guiding the future of our physical environment?
Statewide representation: Do you represent a part of the state that is not currently represented on the Board?
Leadership representation: Do you represent a leadership role in our state, the design profession, your community, or your business?
 Advocate for architecture and design:  Do you have a passion and desire to elevate and promote the profession of architecture and design and act as an advocate for the power of great design.
Advocate for design education: Do you represent a group or sector of Vermont focused on education for the built environment? Advocate for the Environment: Do you represent a group or sector of Vermont focused on protection of our natural resources and the environment?
Do you have a passion for reducing the impact of building and construction on the environment?
Advocate for Public Policy: Are you interested in public policy issues? Each year, AIAVT pursues a range of public policy initiatives aimed at advancing the profession on local, state and national levels.

AIAVT's Nominating Committee (The Executive Committee) may request letters of recommendation from nominees. If so, you will receive an email request in the coming weeks.
