Community Art Hub - Volunteer Application
Arts Hub volunteers are responsible for acting as key holders to the space, orienting community members to the space, providing support with tools and equipment, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, recording sign-ins, processing payments, and doing required surface cleaning.
All volunteers are able to use the art supplies for free while they are actively volunteering and while the art hub is open. All active volunteers are able to participate in Art Hub workshops for free.
Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of 1 shift every other week to host drop in space at the Art Hub for a minimum of three hours to maintain their active volunteer status. All volunteers who have not actively used their keys for 60 days need to return them to the QVCC to keep security access up to date with active volunteers.
All volunteers are required to pass a Criminal Record Check, free of charge. Once a criminal record check comes through, we set up a time for volunteers to do a building orientation with the Facilities Manager at the Quadra Village Community Centre (where the Art Hub is located). After volunteers complete the building orientation they will be given keys and a security code to the Quadra Community Center so that volunteers are able to host the space when the community center closes at 4pm on weekdays.
Volunteers will also have the opportunity to co-host at least one chosen workshop throughout the year. This can look like offering an art skill that they wish to teach, or working together to organize an art skill the volunteer would like to learn. The Community Art Hub coordinator will work with each volunteer to produce their desired workshop throughout the year. This is to ensure volunteers are involved in program development throughout the year and makes volunteering more engaging.
