WAITLIST: Digital Synthesis Workshop @ the Firehouse
NOTE: oh gosh, the 20 slots we made available for enrollment have been filled! this form is now a waitlist, through which we will reach out if anybody chooses to free up their slot <33

Hello! Thank you for your interest in attending the Digital Synthesis Workshop with Rylee Lyman and Dan Derks, happening at the Firehouse in Worcester, MA on Sunday Jan 28th from 1p-4p!

Together, we'll learn the fundamentals of making and shaping sound through VCV Rack, a free software modular synthesizer. We’ll cover the basics of the program’s interface, dig into signal flow and mixing, and explore techniques for creating modulation and changing timbre. This workshop is perfect for those curious about modular synthesis, digital music making, and sound design.

This workshop is great for beginners as well as seasoned pros -- it was designed for people with all levels of musical and digital art-making experience.

There is a $10-$15 suggested donation -- we want people to get exposed to these concepts and tools, though, so no one will be turned away for lack of funds! Please feel free to bring cash or venmo/paypal Dan before/during/after our gathering! There will also be a performance following the workshop, at 6p, at the same venue -- Rylee and Dan will each perform solo sets, alongside the brilliant A. Campbell Payne. It'll be such a nice lil' night of ambient and exploratory sound!

Prerequisites:

  • personal laptop with the free version of VCV Rack 2 installed: vcvrack
  • personal wired headphones
Thank you so so so much + we're very excited to see you soon!!
