Welcome to the 2020 Virtual Summer Challenge for zbteens. Register below if you are entering 6th grade to entering 12th grade.
Choose between Summer Book Loot OR STEAM Kit OR Summer Challenge.

Please pick up your kit at the ZB Pubic Library using our curbside service. WE WILL CALL YOU WHEN YOUR KIT IS READY TO BE PICKED UP.  

Because we have limited supply, we ask that before you register, please make a commitment to complete activities and to participate all summer. If you do not think you are going to invest time to the challenge, you may still register and participate but you will have to download books and find the challenges for the VIRTUAL SUMMER CHALLENGE at zblibrary.info/teens or in our highlights on Instagram. You will still be eligible to enter the monthly raffle.  

Book Loot boxes are limited to one loot box/house.
STEAM Kits are limited to one kit/house.

There will be two rounds. This is round one. Once you complete the challenge and fill out the next Google form, you will receive the next kit or loot box. All instructions will be in your first round kit/loot box.

How Does It Work?
* You are asked to complete at least five activities to complete the challenge.
* Once you've completed at least five challenges, scan the QR code on your book or info booklet. Once you've done that, you are automatically entered to get the second round kit.
* You are also automatically entered for the monthly raffle; there will be four winners a month.
* You must have round one completed by August 4 to get round two
* Read, Investigate, Upcycle ends August 13. All completions need to in by August 13th to get your completion prize.
* Completion prize is a t-shirt and a $5 coupon to It's All Good.

What's In the kits?
PLEASE READ AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO DO THE ACTIVITIES BEFORE APPLYING FOR THE BOOK LOOT OR STEAM KIT.

Book Loot-You will receive one book of your choice, colored pencils, a vinyl sticker, and a reusable straw. Challenges will be to read the book, redesign the book cover, draw a character from the book, write a poem or short story based on the opening line, write or record a short book review. Taking pics of your completed projects will count as the required five activities.  You can also participate in the daily Instagram/Facebook activities to count toward completed activities. Follow @zbteens on FB/IG for activities. If you don't have FB or IG, ask your parent if you can use their account.

STEAM Kit-You will receive three products and you are asked to complete at least three challenges. Taking pics of your completed projects will count as the required five activities. You can also participate in the daily Instagram/Facebook activities to count toward completed activities. Follow @zbteens on FB/IG for activities. If you don't have FB or IG, ask your parent if you can use their account.

Summer Challenge-If you know you cannot commit to completing five challenges, please consider the Summer Challenge. You will not be mailed anything but you can check out eBooks or eAudiobooks on the Libby or Hoopla app. Please visit zblibrary.info/teens to see the challenges. Once you complete five activities, visit zblibrary.info/teens to fill out the completion form. If you know you are ready to do the Book Loot or STEAM Kit activities, you can request one of those for round 2.
