The Space Minor is part of the larger campus-wide Grand Challenge initiative and is open to all CU Boulder students regardless of major. This form is designed to take 5 minutes or less to complete. Upon clicking submit, your idea will be submitted to the Space Minor Faculty Committee for review. The committee will review all submissions and if your idea(s) is selected, you will be notified via email with further instructions on presenting your idea to the committee at a later date.
The committee is looking for ideas for course development that include the wide-ranging topic of space (please see graphic below). For example, space in film, space in literature, etc. Please check out previously developed courses for examples. These courses need to be developed in a time frame that they would be available for enrollment in the Spring 2024 or Fall 2024 semester. The committee is looking for only undergraduate, 3 credit hour courses and prefers introductory courses appropriate for 1st and 2nd year students. Individual award amounts will vary based on idea but expect to be in the range of $2K to $8K.
Awards are expected to be made shortly after Fall break of the Fall 2022 semester. To be considered for Spring 2023 awards, course development ideas are due no later than February 28th, 2023.
