SORTEE 2022 Content Submissions
The second conference of the Society for Open, Reliable, and Transparent Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (SORTEE) will be held July 11-13*. We, the conference organizers, are seeking content submissions for four types of sessions:

This form can be used to submit proposals for one contribution type. If you would like to propose multiple contribution types (e.g., an unconference and a hackathon), YOU ARE WELCOME TO SUBMIT THIS FORM MULTIPLE TIMES.
*The conference will run continuously from 11 July 07.00 UTC to 13 July 07.00 UTC, in order to cover all timezones (with Europe/Africa and the Americas spanning July 11-12 and Asia/Pacific spanning July 12-13).
Unconferences:
Facilitated discussions of ideas for how to make ecology, evolutionary biology, and related disciplines more open, reliable, and transparent. Facilitation involves moderating the conversation with ideas and examples, but there are no formal presentations.
Hackathons:
Group projects with well-defined goals (papers, techniques, software, protocols, organizations, etc.).
Workshops:
Teach tips and tools for producing open, reliable, and transparent science.
Short Presentations:
Share your experience with issues of openness, reliability, and transparency in scientific research that are relevant to people working in fields related to ecology and evolutionary biology. For example, you could reflect on failures in your own work and what they taught you, present tools or methods that can help others make their research more open, reliable, and transparent, present plans for an upcoming project, or present research that integrates open science practices in an inspiring way.

Note that we are aiming for the conference to promote lively exchanges between attendants. Therefore, when developing the conference program, priority will be given to interactive sessions rather than individual presentations. Space will also be reserved in the program for impromptu Unconference and Hackathon sessions.
We strongly encourage proposals for all contribution types from people at a wide range of career stages and from members of underrepresented groups.
For facilitated sessions (Workshops, Unconferences, and Hackathons), we welcome proposals from small teams (as well as individuals). We encourage teams to include diverse perspectives, for instance with facilitators from different countries and balanced in terms of gender and career stage. Facilitation by early career researchers (students or early career postdocs) is warmly encouraged. We encourage people with any questions about accessibility in the submission process or the events themselves to contact us via SORTEEconf2022@gmail.com. Similarly, please feel free to contact us if you would like guidance as you prepare your proposals and submissions.

Content submission due date: 1 June 2022
We encourage you to make your submission open
This allows other people to e.g. see what has already been submitted (notably before they themselves submit something) and offers possibilities to collaborate on a common session or to repeat similar contents over different timezones (which is highly valuable!).

Once processed, you can view submissions made open here:
