2020-2021 Naples High Color Guard Placement Auditions

Welcome to the 2020-2021 Naples High Band Program Color Guard Audition Information. All students that wish a spot in our Color Guard as part of the Naples High Band Program will be given a spot. There will be no cuts this year. This year we will be utilizing video auditions for placement.You will need to fill out this form, and then send your video audition by June 19th, 2020 to griebb@collierschools.com. We recommend uploading your audition to a cloud based storage site (Google Drive, DropBox, Youtube unlisted, etc) and send that link.

Minimum requirements:

1) Enrolled in a Color Guard class during the school day for the 2020-2021 school year
2) Be a student at Naples High School
3) Have a minimum 2.0 unweighted GPA
4) No major school discipline referrals
5) Willingness to work hard and better yourself and team
6) Ability to attend summer workouts, band camp, after school rehearsals, varsity football games, parades, and all competitions
7) Accept all financial obligations to participate in the 2020-2021 Color Guard within the Naples High School Band program.

The audition consists of 4 parts, only the first two of which are mandatory.

Students will record a video demonstrating they learned the material from the preceding videos. At a minimum they will need to submit a video with the Dynamic Stretching and Dance/Body Movement. Students with access to a Flag are encouraged to submit the Flag Technique part of the audition. Students that wish to be considered for weapon choreography should record the Weapon Technique part as well. If students do not have access to a flag or other equipment, that is ok. We will set Weapon lines at summer sectional rehearsal before band camp in person.

By submitting a video audition you are accepting to be enrolled in the Color Guard course (Dance Techniques I, II, III, or IV) for the entire 2020-2021 school year, understand Color Guard is a co-curricular course and will come to all rehearsals and performances which happen outside the school day, come to all summer workshops and band camp, purchase color guard gloves, shoes and other accessories, pay fair share fees ($200 + 10 family adult volunteer hours or $300 no family volunteer hours) and purchase a competition uniform (approximately $100-$120).
