The South Asian Rainwater Network (SARNET) was initiated as a response to the declaration made at the 15th South Asian Association for RegionalCountries (SAARC). This summit and many deliberations that proceeded in South Asia highlighted the need to conduct research and share knowledge on harvesting rainwater to mitigate the water scarcity predicted for the region.

The network was initiated by the Lanka Rainwater Harvesting Forum in 2020 in collaboration with many organizations promoting rainwater harvesting in the South Asia region and with the support of USAID. We invite you to become a member of SARNET. Together we can certainly make a difference by supporting each other towards creating access to water for vulnerable populations in South Asian countries. Our Vision

Leading the South Asian region to build an effective network on rainwater harvesting and generate evidence of best practices in the region.

Our Mission

To develop a strong network of connections with individuals, governing bodies, organizations and institutions specialized in rainwater harvesting within the South Asian region, while functioning as a repository of information, knowledge, experience, and technology on rainwater harvesting to promote best practices in rainwater harvesting in the region.

Keep SARNET members informed about misinformation/disinformation about the use and management of rainwater harvesting spread in media or either on posts on social media platforms.

Share information about success stories, new research innovations, and opportunities for networking to promote rainwater harvesting/water resources management.

You will not use SARNET logo and membership for profit efforts.

Whenever the SARNET logo or reference is made to the network keep the SARNET secretariat informed.

As a member in a year participate in at least 3 webinars.

Share information on upcoming events, call for papers, related to rainwater harvesting.

You will not share posts or emails to SARNET members that are offensive to ethnic or religious groups, incite violence, or foster disharmony towards countries, ethnic, or religious groups.
