Poway Unified School District (PUSD) continuing with a district Equity Advisory Committee including representative parents, students and staff perspectives in an advisory role regarding the Comprehensive Plan for Racial Equity and Inclusion. Our overarching goal is to ensure every student and adult feels safe, valued, seen and heard and to create a shared understanding of the process of improved culture and climate. The Equity Advisory Committee will learn together, listen to input from others, and add value to the committee and District improvement efforts.
The Equity Advisory Committee will meet in person four (4) times during the 2023-2024 school year for two hour sessions from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Community Room at the PUSD District Offices. The scheduled meeting dates are as follows:

The Equity Advisory Committee will be made up of the following representatives:
-Diverse student representation from each high school
-Diverse group of parents/guardians from across PUSD
-Certificated representation across levels and feeder patterns
-Classified representation across levels and feeder patterns
-Administrator representation for elementary, middle, and high school
-District leadership representation
-Board Member Representation
This application form will remain open until the end of business day on Friday, December 15.
This group's purpose is to advise the district on updates and changes to the racial equity and inclusion plan content, so that it stays responsive to current equity needs, with a special emphasis on metrics development.
