Abortion Justice Day at the Statehouse
We believe public hearings on several bills that will advance reproductive health access, and specifically abortion access, will receive public hearings before two legislative committees on Monday, May 1st.
  • Some bills will have public hearings before the HCIFS Committee in the morning, beginning at 9 AM.
  • Some bills will have public hearings before the Judiciary Committee in the afternoon, beginning at 12 pm.
We hope for the largest turnout possible, especially in the afternoon, to convey to legislators Mainers' broad and deep support for full abortion rights and access. We anticipate that opposition to the governor's bill in particular will be highly motivated and large numbers of anti-abortion advocates and testifiers will be present on this day. Abortion storytellers and providers sharing their experiences will face a large crowd of anti-abortion activists, and they need our compassionate presence & vocal support. It's time to show up & show out!

Please fill out the form below to indicate if you plan to attend in person and if you need transportation/can offer to carpool. If you have additional questions, contact GRR!'s Organizer, Cait Vaughan, at cait.v@grrnow.org.
