[DISRUPTIVE] 2nd Hackathon on Cybersecurity for IoT-based applications - a CTF competition
The DISRUPTIVE project, as part of its training activities, is organizing the 2nd edition of the Hackathon on Cybersecurity for IoT-based applications - a CTF competition. With the wide adoption of IoT devices and the increasing demand for IoT-based applications, the fast development and deployment of such applications by companies lead to non proper checking for cyber security issues and vulnerabilities.

In this hackathon, the participants will be challenged in a Capture The Flag (CTF) competition to gain and apply some basic security skills to solve different challenges related to security aspects of IoT-based applications. This aims to present some of the main cyber security aspects to support the development of more secure IoT-based applications.

The registration period will be open from 11/04/2022 to 29/04/2022.
The hackathon will take place on 03/05/2022 (from 9h00 to 18h00).

The hackathon will be held in IPB (Instituto Politécnico de Bragança). The instructors include the researchers from IPB: Tiago Pedrosa, Jorge Loureiro, Gustavo Funchal and Alexandre Júnior.

Program:
[9h00 - 18h00 WEST] CTF competition:  the teams need to solve challenges to collect flags and gain points. The team that achieves the highest score within the limited time of the CTF wins.

The hackathon is intended for undergraduate students of the area of Computer Science and cybersecurity enthusiasts. Requirements: basic knowledge on linux commands and programming skills. One up to four participants per team. The participants must go to the hackathon with a PC or VirtualMachine with Kali Linux distribution or other with cybersecurity related tools.
