We are currently accepting applications for RiPE-sponsored workshops and invited sessions for the 2022 Winter Meeting, January 8-11 (New Orleans, LA). Please submit your application no later than Friday, January 15 for full consideration. Please note that the final decision for what sessions and workshops will be offered will be determined at the 2021 Virtual Winter Meeting Programs II session.  In recent years, the demand for RiPE-sponsored workshops/sessions has exceeded the number of available slots, therefore this process may be competitive.​

Decision Process:
Please submit one application for each proposed session or workshop. RIPE committee members will prioritize applications based on the following criteria:
• diversity of sessions/workshops and organizers within one meeting and across recent meetings
• alignment with goals expressed by the community (explained further below)
• strength of research basis, attendance/popularity
• flexibility to offer the session/workshop at another upcoming meeting
Final decisions regarding committee sponsorship are made in a closed collaborative meeting among all AAPT area chairs and vice-chairs (referred to as "Programs II") during the 2021 Virtual Winter Meeting.

A note on committee sponsorship:
AAPT gives each area committee two separate budgets (one for sessions and one for workshops) of units to spend on the sponsorship of sessions and workshops. If a committee is the sole sponsor for a session or a half-day workshop, the committee spends one whole unit (a full-day workshop requires two units). If a committee partners with another committee to co-sponsor a session/workshop, each committee spends one half unit.  In the past, the demand for RiPE-sponsored workshops/sessions exceeded the number of units allocated to RiPE.  Therefore, in order to increase the number of RiPE-sponsored workshops/sessions, we encourage applicants to seek co-sponsorship with other area committees.
