Please Note:
- The orchestra tunes to A=440.
- Copies of excerpts are available upon request.
- For all auditions, sight-reading will not likely be asked, but the judges reserve the right to ask for sight-reading, possibly as a tie-breaker.
- Other highly-qualified candidates have been auto-advanced to the performance round and will perform with the DSO throughout the 2023-2024 season.
- PERFORMANCE ROUND: One Finalist will be chosen to perform as Concertmaster with the DSO for our Classics 5 week before the position is awarded. In extenuating circumstances, a different performance may be decided on by the audition Finalist and the Music Director/Conductor (See below).
- These are blind auditions. The screen may be removed for the final pre-performance round.
- Your deposit will be returned upon your arrival to the audition.
- Cancellations must be in writing to the DSO office on or before October 23, 2023 to secure the return of your deposit.
- Your application is complete once we have received your resume AND deposit.
- Further communication and times will be sent to you by email no later than one week prior.
- Concertmaster applicants are welcome to apply for the Assistant Concertmaster (3rd Chair) position as well
