-PASTOR KEVIN WATSON - REAL METHODISM: FOLLOWING JESUS WITH A WESLEYAN ACCENT

What does it mean to be Methodist? Pastor Kevin provides an introduction to Methodist history and doctrine. Participants will learn about John Wesley, Francis Asbury, and the early Methodist revival. They will also learn about the key beliefs and the key practices that made Methodism distinct in its time. We will conclude with a reality check: The ultimate goal of real Methodism was to give one’s life entirely to Jesus Christ, to be “lost in wonder, love, and praise.” Where are we now? How can we reclaim the best of who we’ve been to experience all that God has for us and for our city?

-KATHY WIETHORN AND MARCIE MOEHNKE -JOURNEY TOGETHER - MOMS MIDWEEK

Are you looking to connect with other great moms in our church?  Join us for a time of fellowship, prayer, and study.   We will dive in to Get Out of Your Head, a video-based Bible study by Jennie Allen. In Get Out of Your Head, Jennie gives us tools from the book of Philippians to stop the spiral of toxic thoughts, and transform our emotions, our outlook, and even our circumstances, by taking control of our minds.  We can’t wait for you to join us!

-PASTOR GABE DOMINGUEZ - 40 DAYS OF PRAYER

This 7 week video based Bible study covers 7 video sessions about prayer. These sessions are:

  1.  The Purpose of Prayer
  2.  How to Pray with Confidence
  3.  The Pattern for Prayer (Part One)
  4.  The Pattern for Prayer (Part Two)
  5.  Praying for a Breakthrough
  6.  How to Pray in a Crisis
  7.  Why God Doesn't Always Answer the First Time I Pray?

Our last session will include a time of reflection, and we will celebrate our time together with BBQ!

-PASTOR STEVE HOLSTON - STUDY YOUR BIBLE FOR ALL ITS WORTH
This class will focus on how to use the tools in your Study Bible to their full potential. Bring your personal Study Bible to class each week, and we will look at all of the tools at your disposal and how to best use them as you search the scriptures for yourself. This will be a hands-On, how-To class that will look at a number of passages in scripture where you will do some personal study during the week. If you do not have a study Bible,  copies of the NLT Study Bible (hardback edition) will be available for $25. (Other Study Bibles can be ordered at a deep discount if enough order by the case of the exact same edition. Large Print and many different translations are available.)

-PASTOR BRANDON FRENZEL - THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS AND THE BIBLE

Pastor Brandon will lead a study on one of C.S. Lewis’ most famous works, The Screwtape Letters. In this study, we will read a satirical masterpiece about how demons set out to ensnare Christians (sometimes funny, sometimes poignant). We will study the Bible alongside the book, and discuss temptation and triumph in the midst of adversity in the human condition.

-PASTOR RYAN BARNETT - JONAH: THE GRUMPY PROPHET
Pastor Ryan teaches through the Book of Jonah. In it, we learn of God’s love for the least likely people, His command to engage in cross-cultural ministry, and the fruit of obedience – even when reluctantly given with a grumpy attitude! Participants will not only learn about this unique book of the Bible, but how it shapes Pastor Ryan’s understanding of our mission as a church in Waco and the world!

Chrismons
Chrismons, meaning "Christ monograms," traditionally are white and gold designs made from Christian symbols that signify Christ. Often displayed on an evergreen tree during the Christmas season, symbols such as stars, crosses, fish, crowns, and the alpha and omega remind us of Christ's identity, His story, and of the Holy Trinity.

This class begins on September 15 and offers the opportunity to create 6 ornaments in 5 different patterns. The cost will be $35, payable at the first class.

Leader Kathy Tipton requests that you register for the class by contacting her at kathytipton58@gmail.com.
