Under-18s Battle of the Bands
BOTB is in its second year, supporting young bands to introduce themselves into the local music scene and giving them the chance to win the ultimate title!

Shortlisted bands will receive free rehearsal space, subject to availability, as well as free videography and photography of their live performance the day of the competition. We also plan to deliver some workshops to competing bands ahead of the main event to get you thinking with an original creative flair! There will be multiple awards related to our local sponsors, including originality, stage presence, instrumentality, musicianship and vocals, in addition to the main BOTB winners prizes. Winners will receive free rehearsal space for the year, some awesome performance opportunities, and personalised band merchandise.

BAND RULES
  • Bands must have two or more members
  • The competition is for bands - not solo / acoustic duos
  • Play music of the popular genres (e.g. not Classical music). Fusions are welcome.
  • Prepare a set list lasting 12-15 minutes
  • Follow the BOTB code of conduct
  • The backline we have available is 2x guitar amps, 1x bass amp, keyboard, drum kit, 3x microphones and 3x microphone stands. If your band requires more equipment, you should notify the BOTB team alongside your application. We will try to accommodate but please appreciate the stage sizing and available equipment
  • Bands are encouraged to include original music, but this is not necessary
  • A musician can take part in more than one band, within reason. For example, if the band and genre stays the same but with one different member this will not be allowed
