Open Call for Associated Projects of the 3rd Hong Kong Early Music Festival 2023

Established in 2019, the biennial Hong Kong Early Music Festival, presented by Concerto da Camera and its partners, aims to promote music before approximately 1850. The next edition of the Festival will take place in Fall 2023. 

Celebrate Bach with the Hong Kong Early Music Festival in Your Own Communities

The 3rd Hong Kong Early Music Festival 2023 welcomes proposals of creative projects presented or organised by professionals and community groups to take place in Hong Kong from 1st September to 31st December 2023, to be integrated in the frame of the overall programme as “Associated Projects.” 

Associated projects need to be, at least in part, aligned with the main focus of this year’s Festival: 1) the music of Bach; 2) his sources of influence; and/or 3) his music as a source of inspiration. The types of projects may include, but are not limited to, performance, lecture, workshop, outreach, and interdisciplinary events/initiatives. Projects may use period-style or modern instruments, and may feature music of any time periods, genres, and styles. 

Once accepted, the Hong Kong Early Music Festival will share the listing and news of the Associated Projects in its affiliated social media accounts and on the website of Concerto da Camera. 

The Associated Projects will agree to use the wording  “Associated Project of the 3rd Hong Kong Early Music Festival 2023” and/or《2023年第三屆香港古樂節聯辦節目》in their publications and promotional materials, such as house programme, posters, leaflets, and press releases as appropriate. Social media handles and the logo of the Festival will be provided in the acceptance email.

The Associated Projects are to be solely funded and responsible by their presenter/organiser. The Hong Kong Early Music Festival / Concerto da Camera Limited will not provide financial support for the projects.

Fill out the form with a description of your project/event. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis through 15th September 2023. 

Results will be notified by email within two weeks after the receipt of application. Promotional materials of the accepted associated projects are due two weeks after the notification.
