In the event that the district does not have enough preschool "seats" for all of our children, we will use a lottery system. You must register for the lottery, in order to be eligible for the lottery drawing. The lottery has a strict deadline and will close on Friday, April 12 at 3pm. You do not need to be present to earn a spot in the lottery as results will be emailed following the drawing. If you have more than one child eligible for preschool and one name is pulled for the lottery, the second child will automatically be granted a spot in the preschool program. Please complete a form for each student. Those children who do not get a seat immediately will be put on a waitlist in the order of their assigned number via the lottery process. Any additional children (e.g.: new residents to Washington Borough or late registrants who missed the deadline) who were not in the lottery will be put on the waitlist AFTER those who participated in the lottery. Children with special needs/IEP's do NOT participate in the lottery, but do need to register.
Preschool Registration considerations:
Must be three- or four-years old by October 1st, 2024 (No five year olds, please.)
Borough residents only
No-Cost, Full-day programming
Toilet training is not required
Priority seating will be provided to four-year-olds
Strict deadline: registered by 4/12/24, by 3pm
If your child is currently enrolled in our preschool , their enrollment will be automatically rolled over for next year and you do not have to complete this form. Any child who will be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2024 is eligible for Kindergarten and should follow Kindergarten Registration directions on the district website.
