SK+ Film Awards 2023 Entry Form
Please read all the below terms & conditions carefully before deciding to enter the SK Film Awards – all entries must comply with them:

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
SK Film Awards is open to all amateur, student or professional filmmakers. You must:
  ○ be living, working or studying in an SK postcode
  ○ have less than two years professional experience in film-making
● The SK Film Awards have changed to SK+ Film Awards and ALL entries must have a positive and uplifting message to be included in the Awards.
● Award categories are Best Documentary, Best Fiction Film, and Best Film Shot on a Mobile
Device and there are three age categories: under 16, 16-24 and over 25
● There will be one winner and one runner up for each age category for each award
● We welcome submissions from individuals or groups of friends, youth and community groups and
schools and colleges
● If you are submitting a youth/community or school project into the under 16 or 16-24 years
categories, the majority of the people involved in the production must be aged 24 years or
under. Although we understand these projects are often mentored by adults the production must
be predominantly led by young people and young people must have devised the script/story.
Young people must also have been involved in the technical side e.g. using camera/sound
equipment and been involved in the edit
● One entry per Awards category per person/group
● Not all films entered into the competition will be shortlisted and screened
● Films can be produced any time since September 2021
● Must be entrants own work
● No explicit content will be tolerated
● No cost to enter
● Films will be judged on story, technical and creativity. The judges will take your level of
experience into account. Judges’ decision is final
● There will be a cash prize for each category and age bracket: 
Under 16s: £50 per Award
16 - 24s: £150 per Award
Over 25s: £100 per Award
People's Choice: £100
● All entrants to receive a participatory certificate. 
● Prizes may change at the organisers’ discretion.
● All shortlisted entries will be screened in brief at the Awards evening.
● Entrant must submit their own work and not that of another person.
● Entrant must have obtained all permission and releases from all persons appearing in the film
entry particularly:
  ○ Everyone appearing in the film under 18 has been given consent to be in this film by their
Parent / Guardian
  ○ Everyone appearing in the film under 18 has given consent for this film to be submitted to
the SK Film Awards
● Entrant must have permission from parents/guardians of all participants aged under 18 in the
production to enter the film into the SK Film Awards competition. If successful, permission must
be in place for the names/images of children involved to be screened publicly at the festival
● All music must have appropriate licences for public audience and streaming
● Entrant must have ensured they have the right to show the film to a public audience
(i.e. secured all music and image rights / no outstanding copyright or licensing issues).
If you do not have the permission to use the music/images in your film you cannot submit the film
into the competition.
● Publishing rights automatically granted by each entrant for the festival organisers to publish film
entries as appropriate
● By providing your email address and entering this competition you agree to receive relevant email
communications from Heart of the Heatons and SK Film Awards including news, events, offers and competitions
● All data will be retained securely and will not be shared with any third-party entities
● Winners and runner up names will be announced at an official Awards Ceremony held at The Savoy Cinema, Heaton Moor.  Currently the date for the SK Film Awards 2023 Ceremony will be in early October, but this is subject to change.
● Organisers of SK Film Awards reserve the right to alter competition deadline, prizes and awards
