Higher Education Admissions Without Standardized Tests
Webinar | December 7 | 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. PST | Link to follow

The University of California's ten campuses have withdrawn standardized tests, SAT and ACT, from the menu of freshman admissions requirements. The remaining requirements are coursework and GPA as well as a personal essay within a "holistic" admissions process.

Deciding what qualities should be considered in admitting applicants to selective universities has been, and is, a controversial issue. As UC implements the reduced set of requirements, the weight of each remaining requirement will be important. In this webinar we will hear from the UC Academic Senate as well as UC Office of the President Admissions Officers, and the UCLA Admissions Director regarding plans and policies that they are developing for freshman admissions. Join us for this momentous discussion and please submit your questions!

Panelists:

Yvette Gullatt, Vice President for Graduate and Undergraduate Affairs and Vice Provost for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, UCOP

Madeleine Sorapure, Multimedia Writing, Document Design and Production, Digital Portfolio, and Digital Storytelling at University of California, Santa Barbara.

Han Mi Yoon-Wu, Executive Director of undergraduate admissions for the University of California system.

Gary Clark, Director of UCLA Undergraduate Admissions
