Vaccines in an Age of Conflict, Global Instability, Climate Change, and Antiscience
The Hopkins Medicine Distinguished Speaker Series (HMDSS) is excited to welcome Peter J. Hotez, M.D., Ph.D., a world renowned physician scientist who has pioneered the development of vaccines for several neglected tropical diseases. Dean and professor at the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, he is the author of more than 500 original research papers. He served as a Science Envoy for the U.S. State Department under the Obama administration, and has more recently become a leading voice from the scientific community engaging with vaccine skeptics. As the father of a daughter with autism, he lends a unique perspective to the conversation surrounding the safety, efficacy, and importance of vaccines in today’s world.
