Austin High Academy Model Curriculum Transfer Application: Academy Preference Survey
Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the academy model at Austin High. Each of our smaller learning communities (academies) offers students an integrated and challenging curriculum focusing on a specific curricular lens in the four core classes of English, Social Studies, Science, and Math during 9th/10th grade. Students also have the opportunity to complete a Graduation Distinction in their selected academy.

When you apply for a transfer to Austin High, you are applying to attend the "Academy Model" at AHS. Our approved applicants will then go through a blind lottery process to be placed in an academy aligned with their 1st or 2nd choice, when possible. Students do not apply to transfer to a specific academy.  The lottery includes ALL students at Austin High -- those who live in our attendance zone and those who have been placed through the transfer process. Through the blind lottery, students are given a number through a random number generator and then placed in their first or second choice academy.  Please read more about our campus and each of our academies here: Academy Overview
