What to expect?

The Teen Naturalist Team is open to teens ages 13 to 18  interested in environmental sciences, ecology, and nature. The club will meet once a week for an activity focused on nature, art, environmental stewardship and policy, professional development, or other related topic. Team members will also have the opportunity to explore topics that interest them through working on an individual project that may include research and/or volunteer work.

Tuesday weekly team days with a qualified and fun nature educator will include:
-Nature hikes
-Citizen science activities like butterfly and bird counts
-Visiting and helping other nature based institutions/organizations
-Science experiments and research
-Volunteering with natural area cleanups and maintenance, community garden plots, or on interim nature center projects etc.

Individual projects are self directed, club members choose a topic and goals with mentorship from Wild Bear leadership staff.

Team members will explore their topic and give a presentation, report, or lead an activity at the end of the summer based on the what they've learned. Upon completion of their project, the team member will receive a certificate.
