2024 GJCA Photo Contest RulesThis contest allows GJCA, 4-H, and FFA members to bring their experiences and creativity to life by enhancing their photography, presentation, and competitive skills. All entries will be displayed and judged at the 62nd Annual Convention and photos must relate to farming, cattle, or conservation.
General Contest Information & Rules for ALL Age Divisions:
1. Photos must highlight beef cattle on the farm, ranch, or at an event and relate to the following 3 categories:
a. Landscape
b. Cattle/Livestock
c. Agriculture and Conservation
2. The contest is limited to 2 entries per participant.
3. Judges will rank the top 5 photos from each category and age division. Awards will be given to the top 3 submissions in each.
4. All participants must submit their entries and this form electronically to caroline@gabeef.org by March 8, 2024.
a. The same form may be attached to each entry, but the submissions must be in two separate emails.
b. Subject line must include: age division, participants name, and category for photo submission.
c. Body of the email must include: title of photo, name, address, and age as of January 1, 2024.
d. Photo attachment should be saved as or “named” with the title of the photo and the student’s name. (Example: Beef on the farm – Dale Sandlin).
5. Photo files should not exceed 18MB. Receipt confirmation emails will be sent once the individual submissions have been recorded.
6. One hard-copy photo must also be printed and dropped off at the GCA Convention Registration Desk inside the convention center on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 by 8:30AM. Entries should be 8”x10” in size and be mounted on white cardboard/cardstock. Photos should include the entry form and participant’s name, age division, and title submitted along with them.
7. All entries must be original untouched photos taken by the GJCA/4-H/FFA member who enters the submission. Photos must be the contestant’s current year’s work.
8. GCA reserves the right to utilize any photos from the contest at the staff’s discretion.
9. All contest participants who plan to attend the Wednesday luncheon and/or tradeshow must register for convention, which is not automatically included in contest registration.
