Freelance Solidarity Project | Rate Sharing Survey
This is an interdisciplinary rate-sharing survey for digital media freelancers of all stripes. Our goal is to create a one-stop shop for rates across the industry and better understand what we need to fight for. Whether you’re a photographer, writer, editor, illustrator, producer, translator or any kind of media worker, let’s share what we were paid and see what that looks like in aggregate.

The survey is designed to be comprehensive to give us the fullest understanding of who we are as an industry. The first five questions are essential. After that, you can skip questions that don’t apply to you. The general rule of thumb is one entry per gig. The more info you can provide, the better it will be for all of us!

NOTE: The survey is anonymous, and the form does not collect your email address, so please don’t include identifiable details (such as your name) in the responses. You can also skip any questions that you feel might identify you.

***Please note your response will be published on our website, freelancesolidarity.org. The final comments field at the very end of the survey is private and will be used for internal organizing purposes only, but everything else you enter will be made public.***

Thank you for filling this out, and don’t forget to share far and wide! Knowledge is power.

Great job — thanks for filling out the basic info for this gig! The following questions are extra icing on the cake that will give us loads more information about the kinds of terms & working conditions these companies are offering. tl;dr: Feel free to skip questions that don't apply to this job, but the more feedback we get, the more freelancers will be empowered in future negotiations.
