Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Juneteenth Food Festival, presented by Weeksville Heritage Center and Black-Owned Brooklyn!

By signing up to volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to contribute significantly to one of Brooklyn’s most prominent Juneteenth events. You'll gain hands-on experience in large-scale event production while helping to create a memorable community experience. Each volunteer will also receive a $25 stipend to enjoy food and other goods from festival vendors.

While we will assign roles based on event needs, we will do our best to honor your preferences. Select all that apply:

Set-up: Assist with setting up tables, chairs and signage before the festival opens.

Vendor Check-In: Welcome vendors upon arrival, provide wristbands, and guide them to their designated locations. (Standing and seated options available)

Guest Services: Greet attendees, answer questions about the festival layout, entertainment schedule and the historic site. Also direct guests away from the Weeksville Heritage Center building (this will be closed to guests) and guide them toward outdoor facilities and portapotties. (Standing and seated options available)

Vendor Support: Assist vendors with tasks like restocking trash bags and flagging technical staff for any troubleshooting needs.

Waste Reduction: Help minimize waste by collecting trash and recyclables from designated bins, ensuring they are emptied regularly. Assist with post-event cleanup, including final trash disposal and recycling efforts. This role requires lifting objects up to 20 lbs, bending, and standing.
