Not all of us can or want to travel for a postdoc to another country. Is such postdoc "as good as" the one abroad? How is it seen by future grant reviewers? Can we come back to the same institution?
During the meeting you will have a chance to ask those and other questions as well as:
learn about current regulations of staying in the same institution/group, duration of mandatory mobility in current grants and some other restrictions (age, time after PhD etc.) in current funding schemes
meet people that did a local postdoc and learn in which way it was good for their carreer and what was or still is a struggle. Our speakers are Aleksandra Siklitckaia, Katarzyna Szot-Karpińska and Justyna Kalisz (currently at UW).
