Volunteers are partnering to host a day of scientific exploration and inspiration for middle school students, to be held on Saturday, April 4th, 2020 at the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort, NC. We are looking for high school students who love STEM to serve as junior group leaders to help make this mission a reality!
Junior group leaders will work with GEST group leaders (often undergraduate, graduate, and professional scientists) to lead a group of 15 middle school students as they participate in STEM activities throughout the day. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience, learn a lot through fun experiments and lessons, and meet some pretty awesome women in STEM.
Junior group leaders must be available from 8:15am-4:00pm on Saturday, April 4th. Applications are due March 13th, and applicants will be emailed with decisions by March 20th. Feel free to contact us at
gest.volunteer@gmail.com if you have questions about this role.
