Please read the instructions below before filling out the form.
Eligibility: Minimum 3.5 GPA and must have received a grade of “A” or "A-" in the course(s) you are applying for.
UG-SA positions will be offered based on the course needs, applicant information provided, and on a first-come first-served basis.
Undergraduate students who want to apply for the UG-SA position should fill out the form and indicate their preference for Credit or Pay or Either, and their preference for the classes they want to assist with (1st = most preferred).
Guidelines for Fall 2021 may be revised, but (1) the for-credit UG-SAs may be allowed to work remotely, depending on the course needs, while in-person assistance may be required for some UG-SA positions, especially for the courses with labs; (2) for the for-pay position, Rensselaer will not allow students to perform work remotely.
Options for SA Hours/Week:
NOTES: UG-SA's duties depend on the nature of the class and instructor's preference
• UG-SA is generally expected to help for the lab sessions if lab is part of the course.

• UG-SA is generally not required to attend the lectures, but some (e.g., ENGR-2350, ECSE-1010, ECSE-2660) need SA’s assistance during the “lectures”; instructor may also need assistance for the "hybrid" lectures (i.e., both in-person & online).

• UG-SA is expected to offer office hours and if available to help in the evening REC hours.

• UG-SA may work completely online, depending on the nature of the class and the instructor's preference.

• You may contact the instructor for specific UG-SA duties and expectation.
