Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Chicagoland Association of College and Alumni Chapters (C.A.C.A.C.), and the March of Dimes, announces their Project Alpha 2019 Conference.  
 
General Overview
Started in 1980, Project Alpha is a national program that utilizes innovative and non-traditional lectures and workshops focusing on sexual responsibility of young males within the African-American community. This collaborative project is designed to provide education, motivation, and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases for young males ages 12-18 years. Project Alpha 2019 consists of a series of workshops and informational sessions conducted by the members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and other community volunteers. The facilitators will provide the young adults with current and accurate information about teen pregnancy prevention and stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS and other STD's. The goals of Project Alpha 2019 are:

• To share knowledge to combat ignorance, fear, and other teen misconceptions with factual information.
• To provide motivation and encourage responsible choices in sexual behavior.
• To provide skills that help to create a sense of empowerment and self-esteem.

Program Highlights
• Providing education on sexuality, fatherhood, and the role of males in relationships.
• Motivating young men to make decisions about their goals and values, and act in ways that support their decisions.
• Building young men's skills through role-playing by utilizing appropriate male role models and mentors.
