Submit your title and abstract for the Pennsylvania Botany Virtual Symposium Poster Session here. Submissions are due on Monday, October 2nd, 2023.
Your abstract should contain one or two sentences covering each of the following, in order:
- Research topic
- Problem or question being addressed
- Research methods
- Condensed results
- Major points of discussion
- Conclusions
You will also need to designate a primary presenting author, and provide contact information for the presenting author and the faculty advisor sponsoring the research project.
In addition to your abstract, for your poster to be considered for judging, you must also submit a two-sentence statement explaining the scientific merit of your project in a way understandable to a lay audience. If this statement is not submitted, we will assume that you do not want your poster to be included in judging and will not be eligible for the cash awards given for best posters.
We welcome presentations from recent graduates (degree conferred spring or summer 2023) in addition to current students. Recently graduated undergraduates will be included in the undergraduate category
and remain eligible for judging. Recent M.S. or doctoral graduates are welcome to present their student research
but will not be included in judging.
