Anti-Racism Pledge
We understand that racism is real, impactful, pervasive, unjust and hurts our collective well-being. We understand that racism is current; it is not simply a concern of the past and cannot be overlooked. We understand it is past time for us to work against the systemic racism that has led to the societal oppression of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

We know that for all people to thrive, we must commit to anti-racism work in our communities, policies, institutions, and in ourselves.

This process begins with us. We understand that the impact of our actions is as important as the intent. We seek to correct our own actions that are racist. With humility, we welcome this growth. We understand that this is a continual, lifelong process. Everyday, we must reflect, confront, and change behaviors that bring harm to BIPOC.
Some of us may stand at the intersections of multiple identities. In our anti-racism work, we stand with undocumented members of our community, those with disabilities and neurodivergence, those in the LGBTQIA community, people of all gender expressions and identities, and beyond.

We view history through a multicultural lens. We will learn, share, and affirm the histories of BIPOC communities. We will listen to those who have different heritage, culture, and experiences from our own. We will honor their authentic selves and amplify their voices.

We will examine policies, practices, and institutions in our community and beyond for systemic racism. We will use our own power to improve them. We understand that this, too, is a continual process.
We will work to increase racial equity. We will prioritize diversity and inclusivity in our education, employment, and business opportunities. We will invest in our community with anti-racism and equity in mind. We understand that this will create a more beautiful community for us all.

With this pledge, we commit ourselves to awakening, confronting, and transforming ourselves, our community, our institutions, and our values. We both celebrate and create space for diversity and inclusion. We stand against racism, wherever it is found. Through our continual work, we strive for equity, healing, liberation, and justice for all.

As part of my Anti-Racism Pledge, I will take the following steps, understanding that this is only a place to begin and not the extent of my work:

Share this pledge with others in my community.
