Covid-19 Player Waiver
On behalf of myself and my son, daughter, or person for whom I serve as legal guardian (the “Participant”), I understand that Foster City Little League requires the following safety protocols that have been developed by Foster City Little League, based upon guidelines and recommendations by Little League International, the California Department of Public Health, the San Mateo County Public Health Director, and approval of the Foster City Parks and Recreation Department. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE PROTOCOLS AND I AGREE THAT I WILL STRICTLY COMPLY WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES. I understand that any failure to comply will result in a loss of ability to participate in Foster City Little League and a loss of access to fields in the City of Foster City. Agreement to the terms and conditions set forth in this document is required to participate in Foster City Little League as of February 26, 2021.

      1. All field time is assigned by Foster City Little League. Teams may only use fields during their scheduled field time. There are NO OPEN TIMES. All use is scheduled specifically by teams.

      2. Only Foster City Little League recognized teams of the same consistent group of rostered/assigned Foster City Little League registered players may have access to fields and equipment. Use is permitted by regular season rostered teams and all-star teams only. No extra players, siblings, “call ups,” or rotational players can practice with a team to which they are not assigned at any time.

      3. All field use is for a specific team or teams based on the type of session being conducted (i.e. practices, conditioning, scrimmages, games).  At the maximum, 2 teams are allowed on an assigned field for scheduled scrimmages and games.  Scrimmages and Games are allowed while San Mateo County is in the Red Tier.  Should San Mateo fall into the Purple Tier, scrimmages and games may be halted due to specific COVID-19 case and transmission rates.4. Observers at practices are limited to immediate household members and limited to the necessity of age appropriate supervision and must maintain at least 6 feet from non-household members.

      4. Observers at games are allowed but must remain on the sidelines and not in the bleachers and must maintain at least 6 feet from non-household members.

Mixing with other households prior to and post any practice or competition must strictly adhere to current gathering guidance.

      5. Carpools are not permitted other than by members of the same family living in the same household. All players must arrive by parent or guardian, unless they are using alternate modes of transportation, such as a scooter, bicycle or walking.

      6. All players and coaches should perform a health self assessment and take their temperature before leaving their homes for any practice and will be instructed that they are not permitted to attend if their temperature is over 100.4 degrees.

      7. All players and coaches will be instructed to STAY HOME IF THEY HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS including, but not limited to: temperature, cough, sore throat, sneezing, body aches, loss of sense of smell, difficulty breathing, or fatigue.

      8. There will be NO SHARED EQUIPMENT,except for baseballs. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. Players must bring their own bat, glove, helmet, batting gloves, or any other equipment. No such equipment may be used by multiple players. Players should purchase their own helmets and bats.

      9. All coaches should bring hand sanitizer or wipes to practice if possible and make them available before and after practice.

Participants must maintain hand hygiene (wash hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer) before play, during breaks, and after the conclusion of the activity.

      10. Players and coaches should shower and change clothes promptly after returning from practice.

      11. Catchers may be used only if they are (a) wearing their own personally owned catcher’s gear; and (b) using their own personal glove. No shared use of catcher’s gear or gloves is allowed between players.

      12. No handshakes, fist bumps, elbow bumps, or contact of any kind is allowed at any time.

      13. Players should be kept 6 feet apart, including in dugouts. Dugouts may not be used by entire teams. For scrimmages and games, teams are instructed to use a combination of the dugouts and the bleachers to maintain the 6 feet social distancing requirement.

      14. Players are not permitted to gather or huddle around batting cages. A maximum of ONE PLAYER IN THE BATTING CAGE AND ONE PLAYER WAITING BY THE BATTING CAGE DOOR is allowed. All other players should be elsewhere on the field, at least 6 feet apart.

      15. There will be no use of the snack shack at this time. Restroom facilities, if open, will be available, but players should practice the appropriate hand hygiene.

      16. Activity or gatherings of any kid before or after practice or “extra” practice time are prohibited. There is no loitering at the field before or after practice. The team manager should arrive early to assure that all protocols are followed and should not leave until all players have been picked up.

      17. Non-baseball gatherings at the fields are strictly prohibited. There are no snacks after practice, gatherings, or celebrations of any kind. No food should be brought to practice and players should not share water bottles or other drinks at any time.

      18. Managers and coaches must wear personal protective equipment face coverings or surgical masks at all times. Face coverings must be worn by participants during practice, conditioning and during competition, even during heavy exertion as tolerated.

      19. Face coverings must be worn when not participating in the activity (e.g., on the sidelines).

Further, I agree to defend, hold harmless, and indemnify each of the FCLL Parties from and against any and all Claims (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of, or in any way related to Participant’s participation in Foster City Little League, any negligence of myself or Participant, any illness or infection or disease or injury or death, any pandemic or public health situation, any COVID-19 or Coronavirus related health issue or exposure, or my right to agree to any terms herein on behalf of the Participant.
