GRCB Outreach Team Application
Thank you for your interest in joining the GRCB Outreach Team!  The goal of this team is to build meaningful connections and relationships around the Boston area in order to reach more participants and volunteers.  We seek not only to bring our programming to more people, but to learn from and support the various communities in the Greater Boston Area.

The Outreach Team will meet (virtually or in person when possible) between 3-5 times a year, with some independent research work, and periodic on site work to engage in community events.

Outreach Team Lead Description
OUTREACH TEAM LEAD
Position Overview:
     Do you excel at interpersonal connections?  Is talking to new people and forging relationships what you thrive on?  Do you think people in your neighborhood or community would benefit from GRCB’s mission of empowerment and confidence?  If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you’d probably enjoy being on the GRCB Outreach Team.  Together we’ll work to build connections and relationships all across the Boston area in order to bring the mission of GRCB to more people.  We’ll do this through intentional community participation and engagement.

Ideal candidates for this role have strong ties to their own neighborhoods and communities and can utilize those to help GRCB make meaningful connections.  A passion for empowering girls and gender-expansive youth and spreading that to new communities is a must!


Key Responsibilities
     - Schedule and facilitate 3-5 meetings a year with the Grants Team (made up of 5-10 volunteers and the Operations Coordinator), virtually, or in person once conditions change.
     - Communicate with and schedule team of 5-10 volunteers
     - Schedule volunteers for specific events
     - Coordinate material pick up/drop off for events
     - Communicate material needs to Operations Coordinator
     - Research and identify possible community based events.
     - Maintain a spreadsheet of potential community based events with organizer contact information
     - Keep an updated calendar with confirmed dates.

Time Commitment
     - This position requires coordination of the team's efforts to participate in, at least, monthly community outreach events.
     - Independent year round research of possible community events and partners.
     - Meet 3-5 times a year with the Outreach Team (made up of 5-10 volunteers and the Operations Coordinator), virtually or in person when conditions permit.

Qualifications
     - Ability to keep track of multiple people, events, and materials.
     - Strong attention to detail.
     - Strong communication skills.
     - Strong contributor in team environments
     - Comfortable scheduling and coordinating volunteers for events.
     - Knowledge of GRCB and its mission.  Past experience as a participant, volunteer, or participant guardian is a big plus!
     - Previous community based work is a plus but not a requirement.

Support
     Onboarding will include an orientation to GRCB, to the Outreach Team and the Lead role, as well as, a training on scheduling and volunteer management. Ongoing support will be provided via regular communications with the Operations Coordinator and fellow Outreach Team Members, and participation in team meetings. GRCB is committed to providing ongoing training and support needed to help volunteers be successful in their roles.

     - Work collaboratively with members of the Outreach team to identify opportunities/events where GRCB can build relationships.
    - Help plan tabling activities/engagement strategies.
     - Be the face of GRCB at regular community events.
     - Devise and implement other methods of outreach.  How do people interact and communicate in your community?
     - Help foster new relationships between GRCB and community partners.

Time Commitment
     - Meet 3-5 times a year with the Outreach Team and the Operations Coordinator virtually or in person when conditions permit.
     - Year-round participation in identifying outreach opportunities, and attendance at events as a representative of GRCB based on your availability and capacity.

Qualifications
     - Outgoing and comfortable speaking confidently with new people.
     - Great interpersonal skills
     - Reliable and punctual
     - Knowledge of GRCB and its mission.  Past experience as a participant, volunteer, or participant guardian is a big plus!
     - Strong community ties.
