In an effort to simplify the ongoing schedules for the development team, we're now looking to find a number of people who can assist in the running of the Ahoy community, and in future, the social media channels.
Ordinarily, this would be a paid position, but due to our current volunteer effort and funding being limited to that of our Patreon supporters, we are looking for a few passionate community members who would like to take on some of these responsibilities.
Naturally, we cannot expect for someone to make this a full-time commitment, and therefore your contributions would be limited in scope and expectations. We are simply looking for ways to spend more time DEVELOPING Ahoy :)
Responsibilities could include:
- Discord Moderation (within the bounds of our existing rules)
- Assisting with assembling community and announcement posts in the Ahoy Discord.
- Encouraging engagement within the community through community events or other initiatives.
Additionally, some other responsibilities may be introduced (if desired) after trust has been built with the team.
Later responsibilities:
- Social Media posting
- Assisting with Developer Journal preparation and release.
- Assisting with the Ahoy website, user support, etc.
- Producing / presenting future spoken-word videos or hosting live streams.
IMPORTANT
You will NOT be expected to undertake all of this work yourself. The intention is to find 2-3 people who can assist in this regard. We will find the best candidates for each area of the project and community to ensure there is a level of shared ownership over these areas, and avoiding any one voice potentially becoming too controlling over the initiative.
Additionally, you will be working with Tyler and some of the other team members directly to ensure we are maintaining the friendly, welcoming, politics free atmosphere of the Discord server.
