John S. Weems Scholarship Application Details

  1. One scholarship of $500.00 is awarded to a graduating senior (current school term).

  2. MSASC member schools only and only ONE applicant per school is eligible.

  3. Two letters of recommendation: one from principal and one from student council advisor.

  4. Applicant must be a SENIOR and provide a copy of school transcript to the selection committee.

  5. Applicant must be a current Student Council Member.

  6. Applicant must attend the MSASC State Conference. Finalist are selected and interviewed at the conference.

  7. A school transcript and recommendation letters must be brought to the state conference.  Application includes essay submission located in this application.

  8. Applications documents must be handed to the MSASC Associate Executive Director, Dr. Lillian Johnson, by the applicant prior to 9:30 A.M. on the day of conference.

  9. Selection Committee will meet the morning of the conference to select the top finalists.

  10. Top finalists will participate in a personal interview.

  11. One recipient will be named after the interviews are complete.
