IUPUI Innovation Summer Institute

The Center for Student Innovation in the Institute for Engaged Learning is seeking 2023 Bridge & First-Year Seminar (FYS) instructors who desire to integrate innovation and creativity within their course structure through the IUPUI Summer Innovation Institute.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Jag Challenge as well as other innovative practices and activities to instill innovation and creativity into your course. The Jag Challenge is an innovation sprint where you will have the opportunity to participate in during Bridge or your fall FYS course. Students work in teams to identify a problem within a specific challenge space. They conduct interviews, develop empathy maps, and ideate solutions for a target individual. It is fun, creative, and all kinds of wild as students work on wicked problems and help the IUPUI campus and community!

As part of the IUPUI Summer Innovation Institute you will:

  • Participate in a series of three, two-hour workshops during the summer
  • Learn about the “why” of innovation and creativity in the classroom
  • Learn about methods of integrating innovation and creativity in your course including the Jag Challenge, innovation activities and the Elevate Ventures Origins program
  • Develop your FYS course as you integrate innovation and creativity into your course

If you participate in this institute, the Center for Student Innovation will provide compensation of a $1,000 stipend to full-time faculty and staff who are teaching both Bridge and FYS sections during the 2023-2024 academic year (Note: Participation and compensation are subject to supervisor and HR approval)

If you have questions or would like to discuss this opportunity in more detail, please contact Christian Rogers, Director, Center for Student Innovation at rogerscb@iupui.edu
