Parking lot of Harrison Park, 1701 W 100th Street
Join Bloomington Parks' Staff and Sustainability Commission Members in pulling garlic mustard along Nine Mile Creek.
Garlic mustard is a non-native, invasive plant. Because of its aggressive nature and prolific seeding, it alters ecosystems and chokes out beneficial native plants and flowers that pollinators and other wildlife depend on. Garlic mustard often moves in after buckthorn is removed.
Volunteers will be pulling garlic mustard in an area that was cleared of buckthorn last year. No experience is necessary, instructions and equipment will be provided. Please bring your own work gloves and water bottle.
We’ll meet in the parking lot of Harrison Park, 1701 W 100th Street. The garlic mustard pull will take place 1/4 mile south of the Harrison Park parking lot along a paved trail.
