Assistant Casting Director
We are looking to hire an Assistant Casting Director. Must be well-versed in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word. We are looking for a well-organized, self-motivated individual who is excited about being a part of making people smile. Looking to fill the position by June 2022.
Odd-o-Ts’ Entertainment is a small, family-based business and high-quality production company. We produce a wide range of guest-appropriate, delightful entertainment for theme parks, performing arts centers, museums, festivals, and special events.
Typical Duties include:
• Identifying new outlets for procuring talent
• Writing and posting audition notices
• Creating and completing casting sheets and talent forms
• Developing and communicating descriptions for roles within a production
• Reviewing video links and submissions and recommend talent for hire
• Attending live auditions, evaluate auditionees, and provide feedback to Casting Director and clients
• Leading audition callbacks
• Locating and reserving audition venues
• Working with clients and industry partners to understand needs of the production
• Creating hiring timelines and coordinate with Odd-o-Ts’ Company Manager to ensure onboarding is complete for any rehearsal schedules
• Scheduling and attending casting meetings as requested
• Assisting with audition logistics and operations
• Attending performances and assist with maintaining show quality by delivering feedback to talent coordinators
• Recommending or procuring replacement talent due to absences in show operation
• Connecting with local schools, clubs, groups, and Universities and looking for mutually beneficial opportunities between Odd-o-Ts’ and those institutions to assist with casting
This is a part-time, hourly position starting at $20 per hour.
Required Capabilities:
• 4 Years Theme Park or Live Theatre Performance or Stage Management Experience
• 2 Years Director or Casting Director Experience
• Can overcome coulrophobia
• Ability to work flexible hours - nights, weekends, holidays
• Passionate about helping others live their dreams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or G Suite and not afraid of smart phone technology
• Able to navigate a computer and set up virtual auditions
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Reliable transportation
• Knowledge of Theme Park/Amusement Park live shows and performer enhanced attractions, and live events performance opportunities
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
