RYSC STAR Volunteer Referee Signups
The RYSC STAR volunteer Referee program is made up of family members who are willing to volunteer to referee a game when a certified referee is not available due to a shortage of available refs.  STAR stands for Specially Trained Alternate Referee. Every team at the 7v7 & 9v9 age groups are encouraged to have at least one STAR volunteer among their team parents, but the program is great for anyone of all age groups who want to better understand the rules of soccer.

Our referee assignors offer regular training courses through the pre-season to provide an overview of the rules and tips and tricks for success.  While a volunteer STAR referee does not receive all of the training as a fully certified referee, they are an important part of the club helping us to ensure soccer can be played by all the kids in the region despite the referee shortage.  And for anyone who likes the work, you can go on to become fully certified (and we can start paying you!)

If you are interested in volunteering for the STAR Program, please complete the form below and our Referee Assignor will be in touch with available training opportunities.
