Artist Statement or Description
(Three sentences) An artist statement is an artist's written description of their work. It is a description is for, and in support of the artist's own work to give the viewer understanding. It's purpose is to inform, connect with an art context, and present the basis for the work; it is didactic, descriptive, or reflective in nature. If your statement is longer than 1500 characters, please email it to your Gallery Educator and mmesquita@mcasd.org and/or there are multiple Artist Statements.
