Submission Deadline:
The deadline for proposal submissions for the conference is 10 May 2024. The corresponding/presenting author, whom we assume is the first author, will receive the acceptance decision by late May and is responsible for communicating the decision and appropriate information to co-authors on the proposal. For additional details, please visit amenetwork.org/2024, the conference home page, or email the conference, AMEconference2024@gmail.com.

Proposal formats:
For individual papers and posters, a shorter (100 word) abstract and longer (300-500 word) abstract are requested. The shorter abstracts will be included in the program. The longer abstracts will be reviewed by board members for inclusion of the proposal in the program.

For symposia, a shorter (100-word) abstract for the overall symposium is requested. In addition, a longer abstract is requested that includes the title (max. 12 words) and 100-word description for each paper in the order they will be given in the symposium. The shorter abstract for the overall symposium and the longer abstract that titles and describes each paper will be included in the program, along with the names of the authors.

For all proposals--individual papers and posters and symposium papers--to give the program a uniform format, please capitalize the first letter of all major words in titles, for example, Relatable and Attainable Moral Exemplars as Sources for Moral Elevation and Pleasantness.

Registration: The first author must register for the conference by 20 August 2024 for the proposal to be included in the conference program. For further information please note the deadlines and fees on the 2024 conference homepage.

Authors: You will find, in the spaces below, six separate spaces requesting name, institution affiliation, and email address, followed by one larger space for entering all co-authors that have not yet been named.

For papers and posters, in the six separate spaces, enter information about the author and five co-authors. If your paper or poster has more than six authors, use the larger space further down on the form to enter information about additional co-authors.

For symposia, in the six separate spaces, enter information for the symposium organizer and chair in the first space, followed by the first authors of the papers that make up the symposium, up to a maximum of five papers in the symposium. In the space for additional co-authors, further down on the form, please enter information for all co-authors.

You will find an example for symposia below.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS

Avoid naming authors in the abstracts. Tables and figures are not supported in the submission process. Only standard projection equipment is available for conference presentations. Internet access is free in the conference meeting rooms.

Proposals will be accepted in English only.

Acknowledgments and further information will be sent to the first author of papers and posters, to the organizer and chair of symposia, and to the first author of each paper included in the symposia. The first author of each paper is asked to be in touch with all co-authors. The organizer/chair is asked to be in touch with first authors as needed.

An individual can submit no more than two conference proposals as first author but may be part of the group in other proposals.

Please select the submission type from the listed options
*
Title of Paper/Poster/Symposium
Maximum 12 words. Use title case, i.e., capitalize all major words.
*
Shorter Abstract for the program
This abstract of your paper, poster, or symposium will be included in the program. If you are submitting a symposium proposal, be sure that it is clear that this is a series of papers and describe the topic.
*
Please limit this abstract to 100 words.
Longer Paper/Poster Abstract for the Reviewing Committee
This abstract will be reviewed by AME board members before proposal acceptance but will not be included in the program. In this abstract, state the purpose of the paper, define the concepts at its center, discuss the significance of the study or work, address its social context or/and theoretical framework, consider methodological issues, and reflect on the practical implications of your study. This abstract should be done in the form of a narrative paper.
Please limit this abstract to 300-500 words.
Longer Symposium Abstract for the Program and Reviewing Committee (100 words + title for each paper, in order)
This abstract will be reviewed by AME board members before proposal acceptance and will be included in the program. For each paper, in the order the paper will be presented in the symposium, state the title (maximum 12 words, title case) and additional information (e.g., the purpose of the paper, the concepts at its center, the significance of the study or work, its social context or/and theoretical framework, and practical implications), as able in the word space. This information will be needed by reviewers to make acceptance decisions. Each paper in this abstract should be described in narrative form.
Please limit your response to 500 words.
For symposia, please enter the first and last name of the organizer and chair for your symposium, followed by the title of each paper, in order, with their first author and co-authors. See example below.

Note: This symposia is chaired by Ann Higgins-D'Alessandro and has four papers in it. Notice that every author/co-author is named and that each title is in title case, with all major words capitalized.
In the symposium example above, the first author is Ann Higgins-D’Alessandro, second is Andrea Bustamante Torres, and third is John Gomez Varon. You do not need to repeat Ann Higgins-D’Alessandro’s name but you may if you wish. You will leave the spaces for the remaining authors blank.
